How did you get your PSC nickname?

What is your real name and age?

Where are you from and what do you like best about being there?

What do you do to keep the bills paid?
Programmer/Web Developer - ASP.Net/VB/C#

What do you do in your spare time?
Spare time, what's that!? I have a beautiful wife and 4 kids. They take up most of my spare time.

How did you find PSC, and what do you like most about the site?
I found this site while looking for Photoshop tutorials when I was creating Parody Posters for the upcoming StarWars movies. The rest is history.

If you could change one thing at PSC, what would it be and why?

Is there any other information about you would like to pass on?

How many hours per week do you spend on PSC?
No idea. I come here on and off during the day and as time allows. No set routine.

What other sites, not Photoshop related, do you like to surf?
ASP.net, YouTube.com

What tools do you use to chop?
Photoshop 7.0

What gets your creative juices flowing, how do you create a masterpiece?
I don't think I've ever created a masterpiece, but I like to take an image and flip it all around and try to come up with a unique idea or perspective that fits.

What inspires you?
My wife and kids are inspiration.

Do you have a system? Does a chop have to be done a certain way following steps or are you a messy chopper and just go with the flow?
Nope, mainly I stumble through the process and learn by trial and error. I usually have an idea pretty quick and form a mental image of what my entry should look like.

What style of chop do you prefer to create?
I love realistic chops! Attention to detail is key for me.

Filters, brushes and techniques: Which do you use, and not use, and why?
I will use just about anything I can to bring the picture that's in my head onto the screen. Whatever helps transfer my mental image to the screen.

When do you know that you have it just right, or is it constant changes up until, or after, you post?
It's always a work-in-progress. I will post what I think is a final image and then see a flaw that I missed and change the entry to fix it. Then feedback from others helps a bunch. I generally stop making changes when the contest is over.

What is the limit to what you will chop?
Blatant sex, gore, etc. You know who you are, stop it!

Are there any tips and/or tricks that you would like to pass along to less experienced choppers?
Details, details, details. Keep an eye on the light source and match your lighting and shadows to the lightsource in the image.

What is your favorite type of source image, and why?
I normally go more for machines or objects. Me and people don't normally get along. ;)

There is often talk about how the source is used and to what extent it should be. What are your views on all sources, outside source use and animations?
Well, the rules are that the source has to be in there somewhere. I think it should be very clear where the source is. Other than that, all's fair in love and war.

What is your preferred resource for outside source images?
Google Image Search

In your opinion what makes a good chop?
Unique out-of-the-box thinking and attention to details.

Do you have a system to get things started?
No system.

Have you ever completed a chop and then decided not to enter it in the contest? If so, why?
Yes, because it just didn't meet my expectations. It's always a learning process, if I chop an image and don't like it then I know what to do differently the next time.

After you finish your chop do you just post it or seek opinions of family and/or fellow choppers first?
Yes, I normally ask opinions of a few fellow choppers before submitting. My eye doesn't always see flaws that someone else might see. If I can fix them before the competition opens, so much the better.

If some one finds a fault in your work do you change it or stay with what you posted?
Depends on the fault. If it's a pretty critical error, I'll normally fix it. If it's something minor, I will probably let it slide.

What qualities do you look for when deciding to vote on a chop?
Well chopped, attention to detail, and idea.

Some member prefer not to vote for filtered chops or animations. Is there any particular style/type of chop you won't vote for?

Time is always a factor, how much time do you spend on a chop and how much time is too much?
I normally put in at least 5 hours on a given chop. I may just be slow, but I like to focus on the details.

We all love to get votes. Now are you a constant vote checker or do you just let it go and check once a day? (be honest)
Constant vote checker. Even when my entry has had 2 votes for the past 4 hours, I still come back and check to see what it's doing.

What chop of yours did not do as well as you expected?
I thought this idea was different enough to place at least in the top 10. Snow entry

What do you consider your best chop so far?
Shootout

What do you consider your worst chop so far?
Too many to name

Who is your favorite chopper out there and why?
Favorite Active chopper is BillTVShow, inactive chopper is deshone

What do you NOT like to see in a chop, and why not?

What is the best chop of all time?
Hunger, BillTVShow OR Blimp, by Deshone
