Good morning all. I overslept today, shuffled with my days off and turned on the television. On one of the German television networks there was a program for Schoolchilren, and I found out about this project:

http://www.facebook.com/plantfortheplanet

It is totally created by Schoolchildren, and passed on to children all over the world. All you facebook friends here, with children, pass this page on to your own kids and perhaps they can pass it on to their schools.

This German boy Felix already talked to children in China and Korea, who also actually plant trees and keep the plant bug active. But the Chinese boy, who wants to help the nomads in Mongolia, where the steppes are no more then a windswepped dry dust bowl these days, is running into a wall of burocrats in his country. In China the burocrats say, this is not a schoolchildrens task to worry about trees, so adults don't need to talk to children.

This should change. And the project should grow bigger. Worldwide, because it is a child initiative.

Felix was inspired by this woman: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wangari_Maathai

She is no longer among us, but her trees and Felix' initiative should never be overlooked.

stop talking. start planting.
