My young friend, Alison Williams, coined a new word that I think perfectly describes the reason why a lot of us are on this site.

Laughterbation: When you amuse yourself with your own humor

I thought I coined the term "procrasturbation" a while ago.
Then I checked urbandictionary.com and there it was.

I was devastated.
Dreams shattered.
Early retirement put on hold.
Shame spiral wrapped in a pain spiral.

I'm sorry to say that "Laughterbation" has been on urbandictionary for a few years as well.

If you care about your friend, you'll keep this a secret.
Keep the dream alive.

Naw, I'll only do it until my mouth gets hairy.

. . . oh wait, that's already happened.

Badcop, thanks for the correction. Sorry Alison can't get the credit, but glad, in a way, someone else is as funny and clever.

I still think its a brilliant concept and the word needs to be in more common usage.
