It was Gauguin in the brothel with the fencing sword!

What do I win?

Ah yes. Nice way to generate some newspaper sales.
Amazing how no history turns out to be accurate under the scrutiny of our great historians who make such nice bundles of cash re-writing it.

When I look out of my office window (like I am doing now) I can see the house where Vincents mother lived...this got nothing to do with this, but o well Laughing

The story goes by the way, that he had stacked lots of paintings in a attic here in Breda while he was in Paris...but the owner of the attic thought it was trash and he sold over 100 van Gogh paintings and drawings for a beer a piece! So maybe some people here have a real van Gogh somewhere in house Shocked

I envision someone saying "You can Van Gogh get me a beer!"

Sounds more of a redneck thing though. Laughing

All history is written in sand. And at best, read back to us by those who practice brail.

The saga continues...
http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/jonathanjonesblog/2009/may/05/art-van-gogh-ear-gauguin

I'd heard that Vincent's mother threw out most of his work, and had lived long enough to see one of them sell for over a million dollar$, another mystery I guess.
